Player Moments Dybala Review

If I have learned anything over the past week it is that when the Forums speak, you had better listen.  Truthfully this review was never in the works and we had decided that the 90 Dalglish review would be the only one submitted from this weekend.  Enter Shelivinho2102 who inquired about a Player Moments Dybala review… and based on the likes and comments it appeared that this was something worth pursuing.  I had previously made up my mind that I would pass on this SBC for a few reasons: I don’t have any real solid Serie A players to link, I don’t have Argentinian players to link, I have completed my fair share of SBC cards already, and really how good could this card be for a super sub?  The answer… really, really good.  Dybala is everything I love in a card and the 10 match review was something out of a movie.  I am currently sitting at 2100+ Rivals Rating and so I come up against a wide variety of opponents… from free flowing 1900+ legends, to Drop Back Danny keep the ball for 80 minutes 2200+ sickos.  But one thing they all had in common… they felt the wrath of the baby-faced assassin last night as the gladiatorial celebrations rained down on my opponents.  The HUNTER chemistry style suits this card perfectly and as a CAM in the 4-2-3-1 he was a midfield magician all night in the following squad:

27 Goals and 3 Assists in 10 matches are you kidding me!  What even is that return?  Yes, I was nervous about getting enough clips in such a short time frame and going into Rivals can result in a lot of 1-0 or 2-1 finishes … so in return, I was feeding Dybala the ball a lot.  But he still had to score the chances, he still had to demoralize opponents and he still had to put on a show for the shirtless crowd.  The pace on this card is incredible… the boost you get from 99 ACCELERATION is perfect, while the drive you get from 96 SPRINT SPEED is devastating.

The best part about the pace I just mentioned is how in control Dybala feels on the ball at all times.  The best comparison that I have tried would be gold Neymar… who I love and is one of my favorite cards this year.  Despite moving quickly through the gears, the 97 BALL CONTROL & 94 DRIBBLING just feel like they are keeping the ball close enough to allow for insane changes in direction, both through left-stick dribbling and fake shot direction changes (which are so smooth with this card).  Aiding all of this is the 95 AGILITY & 93 BALANCE … and as I type all of these stats I can’t help but thinking how foolish I was not to complete this card.  True, he might not be for everyone… but if you have followed my reviews or follow me on Twitter: @IVIaeNine you would know that this card is everything I love… and even better, I had fun last night… that’s right I said it… I had fun on a Wednesday night playing Rivals when I was well over the 30 match limit… now that is saying something.

I almost went 10/10 Shooting for this review… mostly to see how upset folks would be over a perfect rating on a 3 STAR WEAK FOOT player.  But I am telling you, this guy doesn’t miss… okay I will come clean, he missed two decent chances in 10 matches… but everything else found the net.  The Finesse Shot with this card is something they make Disney movies about and the 97 FINISHING is fantastic… of course, both of those facts are only true on Dybala’s favorite left side, and not as potent on the right.  However, in 10 matches the 4-5 right-footed finishes that Dybala did pull off were nothing short of impressive and if you watch the video the one from the top of the box does not scream anything close to a 3 STAR WEAK FOOT to me.  The 90 SHOT POWER & 90 LONG SHOTS had the ball skyrocketing into the top bins faster than stocks in Game Stop and again… he doesn’t miss (most of the time).

190k… crazy.  Cheap doesn’t begin to describe the card's price tag and really is a huge selling, or in this case, buying point. Even if he is only a super-sub I still think he is worth double this price tag… truthfully he might even be worth more than that based on my short experience with this card.

While the assist return was not anything to write home about, the passing with this card still was.  There is a crisp zip to the passes and a deadly accuracy.  It is no surprise given the 95 VISION & 95 SHORT PASSING that this card is extremely accurate… and even 82 LONG PASSING made for some excellently weighted over the top through balls… of course, amplified when on his left and more sporadic on the right.  So that all leaves the one and only major negative with this card and I think you could see this coming from a mile away… 64 STRENGTH… like a leaf blowing in the wind Dybala can be removed from the ball with the slightest gust.  I swear one opponent's TOTY VVD shouted at Dybala and he wilted away from the ball, but that is the trade-off isn’t it?  For the most part, my opponents couldn’t get anywhere near Dybala and like an illusionist he had defenders second guessing what was in front of their eyes as the next second, he would be gone in a different direction with lethal intent.  But I won’t deny.. he needs to hit the weights.   

Closing Words

Running out of time to get this in for you all, so let’s get right down to it.  There is almost no scenario where I am not 100% recommending this card.  Maybe… just maybe if you are working with next to no coins and need to sell the farm to get this lad into the squad… but don’t have any Serie A or Argentinian links… making your most expensive player a sub… then and only then would I say hold off.  Otherwise, I say it is worth putting some coin and fodder into Dybala stock, there is no doubt in my mind that with him in your squad he will take you to the moon.  Hoping you are safe and well.  Cheers for reading.
